Perfect? There’s plenty of tips and tricks out there to fine tune your Instagram profile. And some of us love to get things perfect, right?
I’ll admit it. I love this honing, fine-tuning, perfecting. Know why? Because it’s safe.
I can spend hours perfecting irrelevant details because it keeps me from having to do something hard, something uncomfortable and actually meaningful to move things forward. And so I waste hours. Recognize this problem?
Uncomfortable = Meaningful?
The simple truth is you can’t afford to get it perfect. The time you waste on perfecting your profile (or homepage or online shop or …) you could spend on something else.
Maybe for you that uncomfortable thing is to talk to interested folks about your prices. Or recording a video. Reaching out to that local journalist. Going to a knife show. Spending time in front of the screen to post on forums.
Trust your Gut
I don’t know what that thing is that you avoid. But our gut is usually very good at detecting those uncomfortable things that actually move the needle.
Because it chickens out. When you squirm inside, you know you found it. (Or you got food poisoning. )
The good news is that you likely don’t need to get things perfect either.
💯 Good enough is exactly that.
That’s what our articles and guides and so on are meant to do: Get you 80% there so you can move on to other things. The important thing is to keep moving.
No single thing needs to be actually perfect. Except maybe your knives. We’ll leave that part to you.
